Jealousy

You would never have guessed it
The admiration with which she looked in his eyes
Was but,a misinterpretation of what was

The first to hear it
The first witness to uncover the lies
To recount and tell it as it was

I have always suspected it
She recounted, with a sparkle in her eyes
They had always appeared unreal, such gooey-eyed lovers never was

Is it envy, he pondered, why would a stranger be so cruel
Because she made you so happy, came her whisper
And nobody had the right to do that for you, except me.
